Cinderella were good, no doubt about it. Sadly, that´s about it. They played on the main stage at 20:00 which was too big a stage for them, and too wrong a time in the day for them. They should have played at one of the smaller stages and either earlier in the day or very late at night. The problem with Cinderella and their performance was that they were never ever a big band in Sweden, they only came here once (in 1987) and never kept in touch with the swedish (or european?) fans. Nobody in the audience knew any songs except for Nobody´s Fool, the sing-along-portion in Gypsy road was so embarrassing I felt very bad for the guys. Rest assured, Cinderella gave this gig their most, but due to poor booking agents they never had a chance.

I wish and hope they will return and play some of our smaller venues, maybe KB in Malmo (cap. 800) or Trädgår´n in Gothenburg (cap. 1000+). Were they to play either venue they would destroy the place. But for now, the big "Cinderella Back In Sweden"-gig at Sweden Rock just never took off. Glad to have been there though, if it should take them another 23 years to come back.

As a sad last note this band had among the worst sound ever at this festival. The recording is ok, very good at some points, only fair at other. I did my best. And though you won´t believe it, due to Sweden´s horribel outdoor-decibel-laws, I stood quite close to the stage and PA.
