Song For Love A nice bright recording from the "Pornograffitti" Tour Part Two - 1991 This was a quick return to Manchester after their 'Club Tour' earlier in the year and on the strength of their two big hit singles 'More Than Words' and 'Get The Funk Out' The audience were very loud and responsive this night and Extreme went down very well This concert is also unique as it was marred by an accident that Nuno had during his 'Guitar Solo' Halfway way into his solo the stage erupted into a stream of lights and dry ice and Nuno falls down onto his knees to play!.......Only he didnt get up again!...Just dissapered into the ice!.....He was carried off by the Roadies...and we were left listening to the backing track and when that ended......silence!......Then a member of the road crew makes the announcment that Nuno had hurt his leg and needed time to see if he would be able to continue (He did!) I had to stop the tape here as i didnt want to run out so 'Play with me part 2 cuts in and i think i managed to get the remainder of the set! As for the 'Accident'...staged or real?.....who knows! but it certanly won the fans over when Nuno reappered with his leg 'strapped up' with masking tape! I have included scans of two press cuttings from the 'Manchester Evening News' One is a review of the gig and the other a report on Nuno's accident I recorded this gig on a shitty Sanyo recording walkman i bought back in 1988 it wasnt expensive but the recordings it did were quite good The recorder was only let down by the built in condenser mic that also picked up the sound of the internal mechanisms going round! so on some recordings there is a constant clicking sound during the more quieter passages (I am sure there are some of you out there that will be able to remove this!) I have copied the tape straight with no added frills so if anybody out there can clean it up then please feel free! Dont have any artwork Im afraid but if you wanna do some....Be my guest :) Enjoy and share freely...........
