This IS absolutely the complete show. Not much to say here, so I'll try to keep this brief. I taped this show myself off the radio, so this is a blend of 2 master copies. I used my very first cassette recorder, which was a Pioneer "single-header", the model number of which I have forgotten. May it rest in peace ; it was a great deck. I also used my JVC TD-W505 stereo double cassette deck. I created 2 master copies. Usually for these Summerfest radio broadcasts, I would run 2 tapes simultaneously. One would be a 90 and the other would be a 100 min. tape. In this way, I was virtually certain to get the entire broadcast with no tape flips between the 2 cassette tapes, barring any machine fuckups. For this recording I ran out of 100 minute tapes, so I used 2 90s. My radio setup was in an excellent position in my house, so you'll hear NO static, signal drift, dropouts, tuning problems, etc. This is an excellent to superb recording so no one should have any complaints at all. There are a few soundman-generated oddities sprinkled throughout this recording. Listen to this on headphones to hear some interesting effects ; this can obviously also be very well-played on your home stereo, car stereo, etc. You will LOVE this FM broadcast. Here are several random observations about this recording and show: Since this is a LIVE as it happened broadcast, there are a couple things that are going on that you should know. The right channel is a bit louder than the left channel. It's the same way on both masters. You'll hear all kinds of weird things if you listen to this on headphones. This is NOT a cleaned-up live broadcast like KBFH or Westwood One, so if the soundman made mistakes, here they are in living audio. There are TWO DJ intros, one by Marilyn Mee (who was blonde and gorgeous BTW) and another by some guy, name forgotten. I have no idea why this happened ; that's live radio for you. This is NOT a show for the timid. Jesse James Dupree was & still is a wild man and his stage banter and language and topics are raunchy and crude to say the least. He says "fuck" a few times so don't be scared. HA HA HA. He talks A LOT between songs (some would say that he never shuts the fuck up) and he shamelessly panders to the audience, mentioning the word MILWAUKEE about two dozen times. You can count them. This is why several of the songs are very long. Still, he is very hilarious and entertaining so we can forgive his verbosity. Some of our Southern brothers (I live in the South but am a Yankee by birth) may feel that Jesse gives the Southern man a bad name & image by his on-stage antics, language and buffoonery. They may even feel ashamed of him because he acts like a backwoods country hillbilly, but what the hell can you say ? It's America and a free country and Jesse gets to do whatever the hell he wants. He refers to himself as "Jackyl" in the intro of the band section of the recording, which I found interesting. This IS the complete show. I edited out a few short annoying stretches of screaming and applause but all the music and stage antics are here. The SQ is phenomenal and if yer unfamiliar with Jackyl this is an excellent place to start. They were VERY HOT back in 1993 and their musicianship was really good. Sadly, they are not as popular now as they were back then but they still have a rabid core fan base. If they come to your home town, see them. If they come anywhere near you within a radius of 200 miles, see them. It'll be worth the trip. Which brings me to a final request/beg... Jackyl played in Charlotte, NC last Friday, March 5, 2010. I would've made the trip and "covered" them but an early-morning work commitment made this impossible. They played at Amos' Southend, which is very familiar to anybody living in or around Charlotte. I've been there many times. If you or anybody you know taped the show, PLEASE post it or PM me so I can get a copy and up it here. I'm sure it was a great show. Please make old Uncle Jojo happy in his twilight years and post this fucker. You'll be glad you did !!! That's about all I have to rave about, so let's wrap this thing up.... Finally, no buy, no sell, no mp3. Please seed this as long as you can. Please trade this freely as it probably is fairly rare, unless you live in or around Milwaukee, WI and then you may not have a master copy. You do now !! This show will be a welcome addition to any Jackyl fan's collection. I will post a sample to help some of you decide whether or not to download this, but believe me, you don't need one. So, as Mr. Natural is so fond of saying, have fun, don't freak out and enjoy the concert ! And always remember to live by Jesse James Dupree's final words on this recording: "Mama, I'm through. Come wipe me !" jojogunne 3/8/2010
