The music was loud and strong with the band on the stage whipping up the pretty good crowd for Thursday night. The sound mix was not perfect but more than satisfactory for taping the show among the rocking crowd; loud, clear-highs and huge but not booming bass. It might have been better to set the rec level a tad lower for the post production, which we are not much into these dayscccccHope to like this one. 6. Mickey's Notes; You might never think Jack Blades is the great rock singer but seeing him in action would really put him in a different light. We saw Night Ranger gigs back in 2007 & 2006. Both time, we were pretty impressed with their performance and Jackfs showmanship. Jack does not have a strong ROCK voice but seems to know how to energize and connect with the Japanese audience which is often described lame or non-reaction by many performing artists from other countries. Jack did somehow get over a language barrier with the crowd and reached out to them. The whole show was filled with good rocking vibe and laughter throughout the night. Brad Gillisfs amazing guitar work still mesmerized me while Kelly Keagy singing rock classics like Sentimental Streets and Sister Christian brought back a lot of good memory of long haired rock band age in e80s and e70s. They still have a few more shows in Tokyo to finish up the Japan tour. I hope that some Tokyo tapers will check up on them. 7.
