Here Come The Bastards Notes: This was my 9th Primus show, but my first since the Tales From The Punchbowl tour. I really enjoyed this show, especially because of the full Green Naugahyde performance. This was my first time seeing Jay live, who completely blew me away, while Ler had some killer solos and Les was rather talkative with some amusing interaction with the front row patrons. I haven't been to the Arlington in a few years but I learned this is yet another SB venue that doesn't allow photos anymore. So I after I got the blinding light from security in my face, that was the end of that. As a result, I didn't include many photos from the show (I'm bummed I couldn't take any pics of Cal Worthington on the screen during "HOINFODAMAN"). The stacks were on the stage and therefore blocked the view of anyone seated on the sides (from where I was, I couldn't see 1/3rd of the screen or the right side's inflatable astronaut). When we all stood at the beginning of each set, the people in front of me blocked the stacks. There's not too much phasing caused by that, but I wanted to mention it for when you do hear it occur. The general crowd was well behaved, but there is some noise throughout. People seemed to lose interest during Green Naugahyde, so you'll hear more talking during that set. The moments that are excessively loud are in "Bob" when someone in the pack to my left was talking to the man next to me, and at the end jam of "Eyes Of The Squirrel" when someone behind me was shouting for some herb and the man to my right talked to him. I also had a loud screamer in front of me and you'll hear him at the beginning of "To Defy," very loudly in the jam of "Groundhog's Day," near the end of "My Name Is Mud," in the middle of "Tragedy's A' Comin'" and in "Sgt. Baker." The guy to my right cupped his hands when he applauded, but he's only irritating during the clap along at the beginning of "American Life" and a little bit in "Jerry." And a whistler in the row in front of me seat hopped and ended up directly in front of me and he can be heard in "Eleven," "Bob," "My Name Is Mud" (which also has a random clapper for a few seconds) and "Green Ranger." There's also a lot of clapping along in "Sgt. Baker." The horrifying fact is that the 'screaming banshee from hell' that destroyed my Melvins recording a few months ago was in the row in front of me, way over to the right (2000 seats in this place and that nightmare has to be that close to me again?!? Un-freakin-believable!). You can hear her and her headache-inducing chant at the beginning of "American Life," during Les' talking in "Over The Falls," in "Eleven" (she also talk-shouts during Jay's intro) and in "My Name Is Mud." At the set break, I saw her leave her seat, but my hopes of her actually departing the venue were obliterated when I heard her a few rows behind me do her chant at the very end of "Eyes Of The Squirrel." She can be heard again during Les' talking at the end of "Jilly's On Smack," during the encore applause and in "Sgt. Baker." Her and her pack of cretins then ruin "Here Come The Bastards." I was hoping they'd be far enough behind me to not turn up on this recording, but unfortunately they have a shouty conversation while Les is doing his quiet solo and they all can briefly be heard doing that annoying chant. Bastards. The sound dip in "American Life" was done on the PA. There's also a minor digital hiccup in the beginning of "Lee Van Cleef" (I'm not sure what caused that). And there's the sound of a paper/food container in "Moron TV." This recording is rather bass heavy. If you love Les like I love Les, then you'll probably enjoy this :-) I amplified this a bit, but you'll probably still have to turn it up. I did nothing else to the recording.
