I recall the piano coming out before Crue went on but song wasn't played. Left lights on in my sister's car so battery died :)

GUNS N' ROSES OFFERS ENERGETIC BUT UNIMAGINATIVE PERFORMANCE
- Dean Rhodes, The Arizona Republic, 2.1.92
On the band's first headlining tour, Guns N' Roses has proven themselves
worthy inheritors of some of rock 'n' roll's finest traditions.
Guns N' Roses defies behavioral expectations much the same way the Sex Pistols
threw predictability out the window during the mid-70s.
And Guns N' Roses' sound is derivative of the Rolling Stones (Slash and
guitarist Clark Gilby played a snippet of the Stones' ''Wild Horses'').
But live, Guns N' Roses have yet to formulate their own spin on the rock
concert ceremony.
Friday night's show at Compton Terrace could have been a set by any of more
than a dozen rock bands on tour.
The light show during ''Live and Let Die'' was unspectacular, lead singer Axl
Rose racing to and fro over the multileveled stage became tiresome and the set
list, for all its supposed spontaneity, seemed pat.
Even the witty preshow introduction to Frank Sinatra's ''My Way'' wasn't new.
In November, Queensryche played Ethel Merman singing ''There's No Business
Like Show Business'' before taking the stage.
Yet Guns N' Roses, through sheer force of energy, warmed up a chilly evening.
Taking the stage at 11:40 p.m., Rose broke into ''It's So Easy'' from
''Appetite For Destruction.'' He was dressed in a blood red suit coat and
matching briefs.
(Later, Rose would make his most controversial move of the night, changing
into a T-shirt that read ''St. Louis sucks,'' referring the July 1991 riot at
the Riverport Amphitheater in Maryland Heights, Mo.)
Rose is a devilish imp of a front man, his nasal screech embellishing many
Guns N' Roses songs with just the right touch of defiance.
Slash, while not the most disciplined guitarist in the world, has an amazing
ability to draw myriad tones from his guitars.
And the rest of the band -- bassist Duff McKagan, drummer Matt Sorum, Clarke
and keyboardist Dizzy Reed -- are solid, if not top-of-the-line, players.
During the first few songs, Rose's untrained wail was lost in the mix,
hindering much of the message in the drug-oriented ''Mr. Brownstone.''
For fans, Guns N' Roses ran through a good sampling of the band's three
albums, including the dual releases of ''Use Your Illusion I'' and ''II.'' The
hits, from ''Welcome to the Jungle'' to ''You Could Be Mine,'' were there.
''Bad Obsession'' from ''Use Your Illusion I'' was the main benefactor of a
live interpretation. Accented with Slash's bluesier lines and a harmonica
intro, the anguished salute to drug addiction took on deeper meaning.
However, ''Civil War'' lost much of its impact in light of current events.
With confederate, U.S. and Soviet flags draped behind him, Rose wore a rebel
jacket and donned a Mao cap, trying to reinforce the anti-war lyrics.
With defense budgets being slashed in the United States and the former Soviet
Union, ''Civil War'' felt terribly out-of-date.
And, surprisingly, the numerous cameras on hand to feed images to Compton
Terrace's two giant video screens revealed that Rose is the Johnny Carson of
rock, using a TelePrompTer for assistance in remembering the lyrics. The
cribbing was most noticeable while Rose played piano during ''November Rain.''
At 1:30 a.m., Guns N' Roses had just wrapped up their No. 1 hit, ''Sweet Child
O' Mine,'' and I had to leave to meet deadline. No end was in sight, although
some unprepared fans were leaving before hypothermia set in.
If Guns N' Roses re-enacts the same show tonight at Compton Terrace (show time
is ''around 9 p.m.'' and tickets are still available), expect an energetic,
but hardly revelatory performance.
Perhaps next time out on the road Guns N' Roses will be as innovative as when
they released two separate albums at once. Then, Guns N' Roses will have
earned every cent of their rock 'n' roll inheritance.

notes: Rare performance of 'Out Ta Get Me' as the opener. Axl mentions how badly GN'R & Metallica
wanted this tour to happen and that most bands are unwilling to tour with GN'R. Axl dedicates 'Civil War'
to the state of Arizona in hopes that they one day recognize Martin Luther King Day as a
state holiday. Slash plays the same guitar riff before 'Knockin' On Heaven's Door' as he played before
'Down On The Farm' at Farm Aid IV in
Indianapolis on April 7th, 1990.
John Marshall played guitar as James burnt his hand 3 weeks earlier in
Montreal, Canada. On the next 18 concert James only sang.

Notes: "The First Night" is a clear audience recording of the first show of the "In Utero" tour.
Unfortunately, this disc is heavily edited, and there is no between song talk... at least the songs
don't fade in and out. All surfaced recordings of this show are missing the first track "Radio
Friendly Unit Shifter." It's difficult to enjoy listening to a live show when the continuity is broken
by heavy editing... the between song banter is a large part of what makes bootleg CDs
entertaining. The band had to start the show early (7:00) so it could finish by 9:00. The required
9:00 ending time is probably the reason "Endless Nameless" is so short. Kurt also plays a little
of the "Heartbreaker" solo after "Blew."

Released February 12, 2008.
This version has never been previously released.
There is a small skip in Mystic Rhythms.
First set of ID files went out omitting disc 1 track 6 (Time Stand Still) from the set. A new
set of ID files has been created and this text file has been modified to show this and the MD5
file has been recreated to verify the entire set. Thanks to Rush Hub user SchneiderPA for
bringing this to my attention. -Prevost3000. 3:00pm 2008-02-16.
This is the second repair of this fileset. Rush Hub moderator derrydale found that the entire
set has SBE (sector boundary errors) I did not check the set for that initially because I was
not familiar with that term. Trader's Little Helper was used to repair the SBE errors 1 disc

More rioting takes place at a Mötley Crüe concert when halfway
during the band's show at America West Arena in Phoenix, Arizona,
Tommy starts cussing the heavy handed security and tells them to
leave the fans alone; which they do. During the encore, security
once again mistreats fans, so Tommy runs to the front of the stage
where he says to get the security out of here. After an invitation,
the crowd swamps the stage causing $15,000 worth of damage to
over three hundred chairs, plus damage to a lot of stage equipment.
Eighteen-year-old security guard Kenneth Lee Chambers is allegedly
hit in the back of the head by Tommy's forearm and then kicked by
Nikki. About one hundred local Maricopa County Sheriffs arrive in
full riot gear to restore order. They handcuff Tommy, Nikki and Vince
before placing them in the Police Department's cell at the Arena.
Tommy and Nikki are then taken to a downtown Phoenix jail, where
they are booked on one count each of misdemeanour assault and
fingerprinted, before having mug shots taken. They are released in
the small hours of the morning after spending the first few hours of
Nikki's 39th birthday together behind bars, telling jokes and eating
peanut butter sandwiches. Ten people suffer minor injuries and are
treated and released at the arena. TV news in America shows their
mug shots and footage of Sixx kicking. Tommy and Nikki are expected
back in Phoenix in January to face charges.
Motley Crue's Jailhouse Rock

Bruce Haring
(12/12/97) - What happens to rock's arrested adolescents? They get arrested.
Motley Crue's Tommy Lee and Nikki Sixx were charged Wednesday night in Phoenix with assaulting a security guard
during a near-riot that ensued when the band invited fans onstage.
Lee, 34, and Sixx, who turned 39 while in jail, were taken to the county lockup after allegedly attacking Kenneth Lee
Chambers, 18. They were released Thursday morning and face one count each of misdemeanor assault.
At the end of their rendition of the Sex Pistols' "Anarchy In The U.K.," Crue members urged fans to ignore security and
swarm the stage. The rockers were nearly crushed when 5000 responded to the call.
Lee (husband of Pamela Anderson Lee) and Sixx reportedly knocked over Chambers as he tried to hold back the
crowd. Officials at the venue, America West Arena, reported that the mishap caused $15,000 in damaged chairs.
The "Motley Crue Versus The Earth" tour was scheduled to end Thursday night in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Review and set list by Paul Levesque
IN DEPTH Phoenix AZ Concert Review
Attended the show last night in Phoenix and decided to say my 2 cents.
I¹ve been to 50+ concerts in the past 10 years but have never gotten to
see AC/DC and this was definately one of the very few 10/10 shows I¹ve
ever seen. First up was Slash. Wasn¹t really impressed and would have
preferred to see someone else open for them. (Queensryche would have
been awesome.) I decided to wear ear plugs for the first time ever and
boy am I glad I did. I didn¹t want Slash to ruin my hearing for AC/DC.
Kicked it after Slash was done, and there was this dude in the row
behind us bragging to these 2 hooker looking chicks showing them 2
aftershow passes probably hoping for a blowjob or something. I told him
I¹d give him to smokes for them and then said ³nevermind, I have a
horny bitch with me I need to get back to the car as soon as possible²
and I offended Mr. Stud and he left!!! Anyone I see with a chip on
their shoulder I love to get to bat out and knock it off :)
Anyways,
according to what I had heard, WWF wrestler Triple H was supposed to
introduce AC/DC (The WWF had been in the same building for the last 2
nights) but when the lights went out, all that happened was a fat dude
came out and said ³The band you¹ve been waiting for...AC/DC!!!². The
set list (below) was excellent, minus them not playing Who Made Who
like all other dates so far. I¹m hoping they add it on the last leg if
they come back here.
The arena I would say was at least 90% full, which
was pretty rockin. Brian did awesome and was in top form along with all
the other guys. Phil kept doing this funny thing with his mouth during
the show like I used to see my brother do when he played Nintendo! LOL.
My ear plugs definately helped cause I could actually hear Phils high
hat which is something I¹m usually to deaf by that stage in a concert
to hear. Plus the day after, I don¹t have that annoying ringing in my
ears unlike my girlfriend :)
...Anyways during Bad Boy Boogie, Angus was
on the corner of the stage and some cocksucker threw a full beer all
over him. Angus put down his guitar and from I hear on the radio this
morning (I couldn¹t see) he went into the crowd and tweaked his nose
for it!!!! Well the show went on, AC/DC kicked major ass, and I already
can¹t wait to see them again!!!!

For Those About To Rock
"For you really big fans: Angus punched a beer throwing fan tonight.
Here's what happened: Angus strolled to the left side
of the stage, someone threw an empty beer cup at him. Angus then taunted the
fan to throw one at his face by pointing to his own chin. The fan obliged
hitting directly in the face and covering him and his Gibson SG in beer
(Angus took off his guitar and gave it to his guitar tech). Angus motioned
for
the fan to come to him upfront, when the fan did Angus grabbed and twisted
the fan's
nose and threw a punch at him. The fan tried to retaliate but was
overwhelmed by security and "escorted" off the premises."
Please help me to understand the reasoning behind this - to purchase an AC/DC
concert ticket (pay good money) - go to the show - and then disrespect the
band by throwing a beer (or anything) at the main man (ICON) of the stage
show.
Is that situation...
A) Just plain Stupid?
B) A protest of ticket or merchandise prices
C) Alcohol abuse
D) An out-cry for attention
I think "A" is the answer.

Earlier in the day, the band was on our local rock station KDKB for almost an hour and they did Losing Myself and Roads To
Madness acoustically.. (Wish I had gotten a copy of Losing Myself recorded).
The show started in the FREEZING cold Celebrity Theatre with Echo 7's set. Fan Club seats were good off-center 8 rows back.
Everyone was sitting like they were watching a poem reading or something and a few possibly intoxicated people were rocking
out to them. After they were done and setting up for Ryche they walked the audience which few seem to care.
Queensr˙che's set was pretty tight. They used 2 video screens to project the images on the sides on the stage instead of
behing them. Got treated to 2 Mindcrime songs which I wasn't expecting. Changed one of the acoustic songs which was good.
I like My Global Mind just that Rhythm of Hope seems likely to work better acoustically. Good the see Geoff play keyboards
occasionally since I don't recall him playing them 2 years ago on the Live Evolution tour. Mike Stone did a great job, better than
Kelly Gray IMHO. Show ended about 10 mins after 11. Set list below I believe includes all songs but not in order.

Arizona Republic Review
Midway through Motley Crue (bio | CDs - DVDs - books)'s
Saturday (3/19) performance at phoenix's Cricket
Pavilion, bassist Nikki Sixx emphatically proclaimed
that he was happy to be back with the band that made him
famous.
"I love being in Motley Crue," he said to the audience
of primarily thirtysomethings. "I love Motley Crue."
That may be the case, but that sentiment did not carry
over live. There was very little camaraderie between
Sixx, lead singer Vince Neil, drummer Tommy Lee and
guitarist Mick Mars during the two-and-a-half hour show.
At one point during "Dr. Feelgood," Neil playfully
tapped his microphone on Sixx's shoulder. Otherwise, the
members kept to themselves. Mars, who looked like a
deathly caricature of himself, bounced lightly in his
place to the music. Sixx utilized most of the stage,
punching his bass at the air on each end. Lee, the true
personality behind the group, was given the chance to
speak a handful of times, but primarily kept to his
skin-pounding self. And Neil manned the front of the
stage, interacting very little with his bandmates.
During the first half's closing number, "Live Wire,"
Neil did show love to his fans, getting down on his
hands and knees to slap hands with ticketholders in the
first couple of rows.
The general lack of warmth was one of a handful of
miscues during this show. Strong throughout most of the
performance, Neil suffered through the ballads,
especially "Glitter." And it seemed to take nearly half
the show for the band to hit its stride. The production
during latter portion was much more dynamic as well,
featuring dwarves, fire eaters, motorcycles and scantily
clad female dancers.
"Did we bring enough s--- tonight?" Sixx asked the
crowd. "Naked girls? Bongs?"
Motley Crue's show, which features no opening band,
kicked off with "Shout at the Devil" accompanied by
spitting flames near the back of the circus-themed
stage. A wall of amplifiers bookended drummer Lee as a
big-top tent provided the atmosphere. Each time the
crowd yelled "Shout" with the band, Neil gave a "much
love" pound on his chest. The audience responded with a
sea of devil horns.
"I want to let you know one f-----' thing: We're f-----'
back, motherf-----s," Neil said, letting the F-bombs fly
after "Too Fast for Love."
Sixx applauded his band's efforts after wrapping up "10
Seconds to Love."
"Somebody said rock 'n' roll was dead," he said. "If you
have ever said 'rock 'n' roll is dead,' f--- off."
After a short cartoon and intermission, Sixx, Neil and
Lee ushered in the show's second half by riding choppers
onto the stage. The band then connected with a sucker
punch of hits that included "Girls, Girls, Girls," "Wild
Side" and "Don't Go Away Mad (Just Go Away)." A
videotape of animals ripping apart prey provided the
backdrop to "Primal Scream" as Neil, bathed in red
light, led the crowd in a sing-along.
Lee's personality was allowed to shine during the latter
moments of the show. High above the stage, he flew
between two drum kits for a solo that touched on reggae-
and techno-inspired music. Later, he showed his
video-camera prowess by flashing on the video screen
pictures of women in the audience.
"How the f--- you guys been since we've been gone? I've
got three beautiful words for you all: I love you. Much
love," said Lee, whom Sixx dubbed the "grand pubah of
the silicone breasts."
Although the band is not as decadent as it once was,
Sixx wanted to kickstart the belief that Motley Crue's
members are still rock 'n' roll hellions.
"We're Motley Crue. We're not going to listen to
anybody. Don't tell us what to do. Do you mind if we go
back to Los Angeles and record a brand new
balls-to-the-walls Motley Crue record? Because we're
f----n' ready," he said.
Although Motley Crue wrangled with the show at times, it
ended on a high note with back-to-back powerhouse covers
of "Helter Skelter" and "Anarchy in the U.K.," both of
which appear on its new hits collection, "Red, White and
Crue."

Def Leppard Journey
Def Leppard, Journey revive arena rock at Cricket Pavilion
By Chris Hansen Orf, Get Out
August 23, 2006
If Tuesday night at the Cricket Pavilion is any indication, old school arena rock is back, and back with a vengeance.
With cars backed up on the I-10 freeway and traffic on both 83rd and 75th Avenues slowed to a crawl well after opening act Stoll Vaughn started his short set,
and lines of fans waiting to buy tickets and enter the arena (where only lawn seats were still available at the box office) it was clear that both Def Leppard and
Journey are suddenly back in vogue.
The two bands that only a few years ago were thought of as also-rans as alternative rock eclipsed the hair bands of the '80s, were greeteed by 20,000-plus
fans crammed into the arena on a steambath of an August night.
Tucson couple Tanner Duran, 37, and Tammy Tafoya, 36, made the 100-plus mile trip to the Valley to catch the bill, which bypassed the Old Pueblo.
"I've seen both bands a bunch of times," said Duran. "But I mostly want to see Def Leppard again -- I've seen them on every one of their tours since 1983,
when they opened for Billy Squier on the 'Pyromania' tour."
As the lights dimmed and the crowd roared in anticipation, the members of longtime British rockers Def Leppard (singer Joe Elliott, guitarists Phil Collen and
Vivian Campbell, bassist Rick Savage and drummer Rick Allen) appeared in spotlights before tearing into "Rock Rock (Til You Drop)" from the band's American
breakthrough album "Pyromania" from 1983.
They barely paused to take a breath before hammering out a slew of hits, the highlights of which included "Let's Get Rocked" (from 1992's "Adrenalize"), "Bringin'
on the Heartbreak" (off 1981's "High 'n' Dry") "Foolin'" and "Photograph (which drew the biggest crowd response), both from "Pyromania" and the encore closer
"Pour Some Sugar on Me" from 1988's "Hysteria."
Elliott is still the very picture of a rock frontman, stalking the stage in his black leather pants (which had to have been uncomfortable given the August heat -- the
Brit asked for water to be thrown onstage from fans because "It's (expletive) hot up here too!"). The singer could still hit the high notes, and his mates rocked, like
it was 1983.
Even though Journey's most famous vocalist Steve Perry is long gone and his replacement, sound-alike Steve Augeri, is recovering from throat issues and not
on this tour, Jeff Scott Soto filled in admirably on vocals on many of the famous Perry-sung tunes that have reduced many a grown man to tears of shame in
karaoke bars around the world.
Journey, however, has always been about the brilliant guitar work of Neal Schon (and if anything, Schon has gotten even better over the years) along with Perry's
great vocals, and surprisingly, one out two wasn't bad Tuesday.
Journey's music is divided into two camps -- rockers such as "Wheel in the Sky," "Stone in Love," Anyway You Want It" and "Don't Stop Believin,'" and ballads such
as "Open Arms," "Lights" and "Faithfully." All of these hits were performed spot on, with drummer Deen Castronovo taking lead vocals on the ballads and sounding
remarkably like Perry himself.
Journey has enjoyed a big comeback based on their tune "Don't Stop Believin'" being adopted as an anthem by last year's World Series champs, the Chicago White
Sox. It's also being used in dramatic fashion on MTV's teen reality soap "Laguna Beach," and the band clearly dug playing for a massive appreciative audience again.
The crowd was a mix of generations, from folks in their 50s to teenagers, and Tafoya, who was seeing Def Leppard for the first time, said the music transcends age
gaps.
"Journey and Def Leppard take me back to my younger days," she said. "We have a 16-year-old and a 13-year-old, and now they are into this music too."

I only got Godsmack and the first Motley Crue song and part of second due to batteries dying.
I think they were good they just got hot and died. I don't think the new song Whiskey Hangover
was played. Crue also didn't play Live Wire either. Tommy played the "encore" songs after
Dr. Feelgood was over. Based on the croud reaction Godsmack should have been the
headliners :)
I was in town for work and home tonight in Phoenix to go see Def Leppard-Poison :)~~~~

American Carnage Slayer-Megadeth
Postponed due to back injury with Tom Araya
SLAYER Cancels Tour Plans; TOM ARAYA Scheduled For Back Surgery - Jan. 7, 2010
California thrash metal legends SLAYER have been forced to cancel all of their immediate tour plans — including the American
and Canadian Carnage tour dates with MEGADETH and TESTAMENT that were set to kick off on January 18, as well as the
band's European headline tour scheduled for March and April.
SLAYER bassist/vocalist Araya, known for aggressively swinging his long mane of hair while performing, began experiencing
back problems while on the band's Australian/New Zealand/Japanese tour last October. In spite of his rapidly increasing pain
and discomfort, he carried on with the tour, but immediately upon returning home saw an orthopedic specialist who diagnosed
a cervical radiculopathy. The rocker initially did not want to take the major surgery route, so the specialist recommended a series
of minimally-invasive procedures. While those procedures have resulted in some improvement, Araya continues to deal with
intermittent bouts of severe pain, numbness and muscle spasms.
"Tom gave various medical treatments more than a fair shot," said SLAYER's manager Rick Sales, "but they just haven't handled
the problem, so he's biting the bullet and is scheduled for back surgery at the end of this month."
The surgical procedure that Araya will undergo, called an anterior cervical discectomy with fusion, is a relatively routine practice
and the recovery rate is excellent.
Booking agents for both SLAYER and MEGADETH are already hard at work rescheduling tour dates; tickets already purchased
for all shows will be honored at the rescheduled dates.
Sales added, "As unfortunate as this is for so many people — the MEGADETH and TESTAMENT camps, the concerts' promoters,
and, of course, the fans — Tom's health is the number one priority, and this has to happen."
